Maryland casinos earn over $169.3m in gaming revenue over August
Six casinos combined for an increase of $892,605 (0.5%) over August 2021.
The six casinos located in Maryland earned $169.3m in gaming revenue during August 2022, an increase of $892,605 (0.5%) over the same month last year.
Maryland Lottery and Gaming announced that casino gaming contributions to the state in August 2022 totaled over $70m a decrease of $406,101 (-0.6%) compared to August 2021.
The contributions to the Education Trust Fund in August 2022 were $51.5m, a decrease of $293,463 (-0.6%) over the same period last year.
Revenue from casino gaming also helps support the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry and small, minority and women-owned businesses in the state.
MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County accounted for $71.8m in August 2022, increasing $4.3m (6.5%) from August 2021.
Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County generated $56.8m in August 2022, falling $2.7m (-4.5%) short of August 2021’s numbers.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City earned $17.2m in August 2022, a slight decrease of $762,253 (-4.2%) from August 2021.
Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County generated $10.5m this year, increasing $671,963 (6.8%) over August 2021.
Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County brought in $7.2m in August, a sizable decrease of $575,207 (-7.4%) from the same time last year.
Rocky Gap Casino in Allegany County earned $5.7m this August, decreasing $125,706 (-2.1%) from August 2021.
All of Maryland’s casinos are privately owned and offer slot machines and table games.
