The operator is teaming with Boyd Gaming for the Kansas Star sportsbook opening.

FanDuel Group and Boyd Gaming have announced plans to launch legal sports betting in Kansas later today. The online FanDuel sportsbook will launch at 12PM CST, when Kansas bettors will be able to download the FanDuel app and begin placing wagers.

This will be followed by FanDuel’s opening of a sportsbook at Kansas Star Casino on September 8, just in time for the beginning of the NFL season. The Kansas Star is located just south of Wichita and encompasses over 2,100 square feet. It will serve as a one-stop-shop for fans to partake in in-person wagering from a single location.

Kansas native and NFL star Jordy Nelson will place the inaugural bet at the opening ceremony to mark this special occasion.

The sportsbook will be open year round and feature four betting windows, 28 HD televisions, seating for 40 customers and 20 IGT PlaySports self-service betting kiosks. A variety of sports fans will be catered to, with betting available on professional and college football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, MMA, boxing, soccer and tennis. A variety of betting and payment options will be readily available.

Meanwhile, the FanDuel app will boast a number of key features, including a ‘Free Bets’ promo; early payouts; ‘Same Game Parlay’ bets (which allow you to combine multiple bets from the same game in a single parlay); and a comprehensive sports betting guide.

With this launch, the FanDuel-Boyd partnership will expand to seven states, with Kansas joining Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi and Pennsylvania. Kansas will become the 16th state where FanDuel offers sports betting services as well as the 16th state with a FanDuel retail sportsbook.
