The Schenectady casino will provide a $5,000 training course free of charge.

Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady, New York is advertising for 20 open table game dealer positions. The casino’s Dealer Academy is offering a $5,000 training course free of charge for anyone interested in applying, with classes being held for six weeks beginning this fall.

The Rivers Casino is owned by Rush Street Interactive Live (RSI), which is keen to find ‘fun, energetic, and reliable participants of all levels – from beginners with no knowledge at all of table games to those with more experience’.

The Dealer Academy will teach candidates a range of popular table games, from blackjack to Texas Hold’em to more ‘novelty’ games. Once candidates pass their final audition, they will obtain a New York State gaming license and be offered a part-time or full-time job as a table games dealer at the casino.

The Rivers Casino offers table games dealers hourly wages and tips in excess of $25 per hour. Additionally, it will offer a benefits package that includes paid time off, medical, dental and vision plans, a 401K plan and tuition reimbursement. Travel is also accounted for, with RSI proffering potential table dealers with complimentary shuttle bus service from New York’s CDTA blue line.

RSI’s stipulations for applying candidates require that they be aged 21 or older, and are able to work all shifts – including weekends and holidays. The Dealer Academy will begin on August 22.

Rivers Casino & Resort is one of Schenectady's top attractions, having opened in 2017 as part of the Mohawk Harbor project, a 60-acre community that integrates luxury living, high-tech offices, restaurants and retail along one mile of waterfront.
