A press release from the DC United club in Washington, DC has revealed the first retail sportsbook location in an MLS stadium. Audi Field and FanDuel are now accepting bets within the location that operates from 10:00 am – 12:00 am.
The statement from the team read: "Located just inside Gate A, the FanDuel Sportsbook stretches over 2,700 square feet and features three wagering stations, 47 HD televisions, two large video walls, 18 self-service kiosks, and an uninterrupted view of the field for fans to enjoy DC United matches and other sporting events."
The location also contains a kitchen and bar for patrons to enjoy while they follow bets and the action on the field. At the moment, FanDuel has decided not to allow for mobile betting at Audi Field.
This is unlike the Capital One Arena and Nationals Park sportsbooks. FanDuel has also revealed that the company has "no timetable" for mobile sports betting in the state.
BetMGM operates the Nationals Park location and does offer mobile sports betting, the location is only a short walk from Audi Field.
In late April, FanDuel became the official sports betting partner of the New York Yankees. Under the terms of the agreement, FanDuel will be permitted use of the Yankees' marks and have VIP hospitality accommodations at Yankee Stadium with integrated FanDuel signage in right field.
FanDuel CMO Mike Raffensperger commented: "There is no more globally recognized sports brand than the New York Yankees, and as a New York-based company we're delighted to remain partners with our hometown team."
Raffensperger continued: "One of our company values is to be absurdly fan-focused and there is no fanbase more passionate about their team than Yankees fans which makes this a natural fit."
FanDuel's opening at Audi Field follows the launch of retail locations at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.
