Bringing 15 years of experience to this new position, Costello is a veteran of the addiction and public health field. She joins having recently served as the Bureau Director of Prevention and Training at the New York Council on Problem Gambling.
During her time in the Empire State, Costello was central in the development and growth of probleming gaming recourse centers, which provided support to families and communities struggling with gambling addictions.
On her new role, Costello said: “I am thrilled to join the NCPG team. NCPG has a unique position in the national conversation around problem gambling and responsible gambling, bringing all sectors together to create long-term change.
“I am excited to contribute to the organization’s efforts to modernize the National Problem Gambling Helpline and achieve other milestones outlined in the NFL grant.”
This appointment follows the NCPG’s commitment to growth, a policy that was outlined following the $6.2m grant gifted to the group by the National Football League Foundation.
“Jaime has had an exceptional career in problem gambling prevention and education,” said NCPG Executive Director Keith Whyte. “Her public health centric mindset and organizational leadership skills make her ideally qualified for this position.
“We look forward to the growth of NCPG programs under Jaime’s unique combination of energy, thought leadership and experience.”
As the gaming market in the United States continues to expand, initiatives such as those led by the NCPG will undoubtedly be key in stemming the growth of problem gambling.
