Austin Miller has retired, with Maureen Adams taking over as Senior Vice President of Gaming Operations.

There has been a major reshuffle of the leadership team at Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI). The operator has announced that Austin Miller will retire on March 1, 2022, after spending eight years in the role of Senior Vice President of Gaming Operations.

This eight years was part of a 15-year career with Churchill Downs, which saw him hold a number of key positions throughout the company, including President of Calder Casino in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The company’s CEO, Bill Mudd, had nothing but praise for the long-serving executive.

“Austin has been central to the growth and evolution of CDI over the years,” he said.

“His bold and creative vision for the company’s gaming properties will have an enduring impact. I am grateful for his leadership during a transformative time and wish him nothing but the best in his retirement.”

Miller will be succeeded by Maureen Adams. This is a natural progression for Adams; she has served as Vice President of Gaming Operations since 2019, overseeing the day-to-day operations of eight casino properties.

“Maureen brings over 25 years of gaming experience in finance, marketing, operations and leadership in 10 different states and two countries to this important role,” added Mudd.

“Not only does she bring a proven track record of success, Maureen has a keen aptitude for inspiring and developing her team to achieve both their personal and professional goals.”

Lastly, CDI has announced the promotion of Ryan Jordan to Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development. Jordan has worked with CDI for over a decade, holding a number of senior positions.

“Ryan is the ideal candidate to lead the development of new properties across our portfolio,” Mudd noted. “Throughout his 12-year career with the company he has successfully and consistently executed complex large-scale projects with a focus on operations, hospitality and entertainment.”
