New facility features 39 betting kiosks, 140-foot video wall.

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) and FanDuel on Wednesday said they will open an 11,000-square-foot sportsbook inside Mohegan Sun on February 10.

The operators noted the first legal sports bet ever placed in Connecticut occurred at Mohegan Sun on September 29, 2021, at the Bow & Arrow Sports Bar. The permanent Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook is located just across from the bar.

The new book is slated to have a soft opening Thursday at 9 am local time, just days ahead of football’s biggest Sunday.

The new Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook is taking the place of Mohegan Sun’s old Race Book. Officials said it will feature a 140-foot video wall, more than 30 hi-res flat screens and more.

The new book will have multiple live teller windows and 39 betting kiosks. MGE said one of those betting kiosks will be located on the all-new mezzanine level that has 22 luxury seats. In total, the new sportsbook offers up 222 seats and a centrally located full bar.

Fans who go to the new sportsbook for the big game on Sunday, February 13 will have the opportunity to get a free bet. Those who place an NFL Same Game Parlay (SGP) of $50 or more on any sportsbook kiosk can get 25% back as a free bet, up to $50.

Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook still is home to a Race Book, MGE added.

“We are beyond excited about this new venue, which completely transforms Mohegan Sun’s old Race Book space,” Jeff Hamilton, President & General Manager of Mohegan Sun, said in a statement. “The all-new Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook is led by Sportsbook General Manager Brad Bryant. We are thrilled to welcome sports fans out to this new venue, and we plan to have special appearances throughout the year, beginning with our Grand Opening on March 5.”
