Florida's Hard Rock announces its strongest year for slot jackpots

The record year comes at a time of growth for the brand more generally.

Hollywood, Florida’s biggest draw, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, announced today that it has reached new heights: 2021 saw it award $1.2bn in slot machine jackpots. This figure marks a new record for the integrated casino and resort.

Over the course of last year, the casino paid out a total of over 420,000 jackpots, which comes to a rate of one nearly every minute. Of this number, the largest payout was $900,000 while the average jackpot came to a respectable $3,000.

This record-breaking year comes amid Hard Rock’s growing footprint in the land-based industry. In 2019, it completed a significant extension of its Florida location.

Meanwhile in Las Vegas, it was announced just weeks ago that Hard Rock would buy The Mirage for just over $1bn, meaning that, in due course, a signature, oversized, guitar-shaped building would soon be gracing The Strip with its presence.

The Hollywood, Florida Hard Rock offers up to 3,000 different slots games, ranging from video poker to video keno, electronic roulette to electronic craps. Among its specific offerings are a High Limit Slots room where denominations can range anywhere from 10 cents to $1,000. The casino also offers to customers a non-smoking slots room.

Hard Rock has also been experimenting with such features as slots-centered loyalty cards that can be used across its platform.

While slots are heavily skewed to land-based casinos in the US, online they are making headway too. This is an area the Hard Rock is looking to tap into. The group’s online sportsbook, for instance, is already live in New Jersey and Iowa with many more states on the way.
