Wong has been in the employ of Gateway since 2011, working in a number of leadership positions.

Effective from January 1, 2022, Queenie Wong has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer at Gateway Casinos & Entertainment (Gateway). In this role, Wong will continue to report to Gateway’s CEO, Tony Santo.

Wong has worked at Gateway since 2011 when she joined from the Audit and Assurance Group at PWC. Since then, she has held prominent financial positions at the company, including Chief Accounting Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance.

“Queenie’s leadership has been instrumental in facilitating Gateway’s growth across the Company’s portfolio of properties and new developments, as well as being a strategic leader throughout the Covid recovery period,” commented Santo.

During her time with Gateway, Wong has played an important role in a number of strategic growth transactions, including the acquisition of Playtime Gaming, which saw Gateway add six new properties to its casino portfolio. Moreover, Wong was central in the group’s expansion into the province of Ontario in October 2021; adding 12 properties to Gateway’s offering.

In total, Gateway owns and operates 26 gaming properties across Canada, with its presence mainly focused on the regions of British Columbia and Ontario. Within these 26 properties are 12,971 slot machines, 365 table games, 902 bing seats and 79 restaurants. The company employs 6,500 people in the two regions.

In recent times, Gateway has focused its approach on expanding its product offering by developing proprietary casino and restaurant content, including Match Eatery & Public House, Atlas Steak + Fish and the Halley’s Club.

Last fall, the group completed a $1.25bn Senior Secured Term Loan B issuance to refinance its capital structure and fund cash to its balance sheet.
