This marks her return to a position that she held for seven years, beginning when she co-founded the company in 2011.

Anna Sainsbury, GeoComply’s Chairman and Co-Founder, has taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer; the appointment was effective from January 1, 2022. This is the second time she has held this position, the first being for seven years after she co-founded the company in 2011.

Per the appointment, Sainsbury will take over from her co-founding partner David Briggs, whose tenure saw the company increase its revenue by a reported 1,500%.

On his time as CEO, Briggs noted: “After four incredible years as CEO, I am looking forward to supporting Anna as she steps back into the role she was born to have. Anna is a natural born leader and visionary and I have every confidence that her passion and dedication will take GeoComply to new heights.”

On top of playing a key role in the growth of GeoComply, Sainsbury is on the board of the American Gaming Association.

Speaking on Briggs’ role going forward, as well as her appointment, Sainsbury said: “David will continue to be an essential part of the company by dedicating himself to special projects, not least by providing core leadership on GeoComply’s future in fintech.

“He will also focus on managing and delivering innovation on the product front and will take a central role in consolidating our internship and graduate recruitment programmes to secure a bright future for our team’s growth. His leadership has seen GeoComply through a transformative period as the business has expanded into exciting verticals and received institutional investment.”

GeoComply is a fraud prevention and cybersecurity company operating throughout the United States. As of 2022, the organization is in partnership with some of gaming’s most prominent operators, including DraftKings, FanDuel and MGM Resorts International.
