The app will allow players to bet on premier Thoroughbred, Harness and Quarter Horse races in Florida and Louisiana.

Florida and Louisiana residents will gain access to BetMGM’s Horse Racing Mobile App today following an announcement from the gaming giant. The platform allows players in the Sunshine and Bayou States to bet on Thoroughbred, Harness and Quarter Horse races at over 200 tracks globally.

"Today's launch in Florida and Louisiana sets the stage for BetMGM to engage with a new customer base in the South," noted BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt. "The BetMGM Horse Racing app is a key part of our market expansion plans and will accelerate our continued growth into 2022."

The app is set to allow players the opportunity to live stream racing content, watch replays and wager on high-profile events that take place in the US and the rest of the world. Different events featured on the app include the Preakness Stakes, Belmont Stakes, Pegasus World Cup, Breeders’ World Championships, and the summer meet at Saratoga Race Course.

To provide this betting data, BetMGM will utilize NYRA Bets, the official betting platform of the New York Racing Association.

Following this announcement BetMGM Horse Racing is now available to players in three states, Florida, Louisiana and Ohio. The platform can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

BetMGM is a joint venture owned by both MGM Resorts International and the British gaming giant Entain. Earlier this year, MGM Resorts attempted to pursue a takeover of Entain. However, its $11bn offer was quickly rejected.
