Lupo comes having served as president of Hard Rock Atlantic City.

The Casino Association of New Jersey has appointed Joe Lupo to be its new president. Lupo, who has 35 years in the gaming industry, has served as president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City since 2018. The Casino Association’s members voted him in on Tuesday.

Lupo joined Hard Rock International in 2016, having previously served as president of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, Florda. Before this, he was with Boyd Gaming for three decades. At Boyd he helped launch the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in 2003 and would serve as senior executive there for 13 years.

Lupo’s term will follow that of Terry Glebocki, former CEO at Ocean Casino Resort.

In a statement, Lupo complemented his predecessor and struck an optimistic tone for the future of the Casino Association and its place in the Atlantic City gaming landscape: “Terry did a great job as a leader, and we are grateful for her meaningful contributions to the industry. I am prepared to lead the CANJ forward as we work to reinvigorate Atlantic City. Our industry is invested in this community, and we believe with continued hard work and determination, Atlantic City’s best days lie ahead.”

The Casino Association of New Jersey is a trade organization that works and advocates on behalf of the Atlantic City casino industry. In this role, it pushes legislation that will be of benefit to the industry and works toward the continued revitalization of Atlantic City. Its stated goal is to make the city once again a world-class destination. All of the city’s nine casinos are on the organization.
