Growth comes amidst other milestones and exclusive partnerships.

PointsBet’s US numbers for Q1 of FY22 are in, and things are coming up roses for this Australian company. Since launching stateside in 2019, PointsBet has claimed to be the fastest growing sportsbooks in the country and its performance indicates it is indeed in the running: for the 12 months leading up to 30 September 2021, the company saw a 367% increase in cash active clients, bringing the total to 185,880.

The American arm of the company saw a sports betting gross win of $29.2m, a 197% increase from the $9.8m of the year before. Net win margins were similarly dramatic with a 307% year-over-year increase from $3.1m to $12.5m.

A number of milestones and exclusive agreements added to the luster of this quarter’s performance. First, PointsBet expanded its geographical footprint in the US, launching in New Jersey and West Virginia.

Then there was Drew Brees, the NFL quarterback who officially came on as a spokesperson for the company. Brees, who retired at the end of the 2020 season, is looking to develop his reputation as a sportscaster. His presence will surely help grease the machinery as PointsBet and NBC Sports continue to develop their relationship.

In August, PointsBet was selected by the NFL to be an approved sportsbook operator. This will open the company to sponsorships, overall visibility, and to the coveted tranches of data the league collects, an addition that will serve the customer moving forward.

Finally, the Canadian arm of the company entered into multi-year agreements with both DailyFaceoff.com, the Nation Network, and became the exclusive betting partner of Curling Canada.
