In total, 750 customers across the state can register and place bets beginning today after 3:00pm local time.

As the state of Connecticut moves to legalize sports betting, a number of operators have been allowed to soft launch their products prior to its state-wide release. One of these operators is Rush Street Interactive and its sportsbook PlaySugarHouse.

Per the terms of the state’s soft launch policy, 750 customers across the state can register and place bets on the platform after 3:00pm local time.

“We are thrilled to begin the much-anticipated launch of the PlaySugarHouse online sportsbook with the Connecticut Lottery and bring our award-winning product to players in Connecticut,” said Richard Schwartz, chief executive officer of RSI.

“We are confident that with our huge volume of betting content, wide range of deposit and withdrawal methods, real-time cash-out approvals, and best-in-class customer service, Connecticut players will come to prefer PlaySugarHouse when wagering on their favorite sports.”

The 750 patrons who place bets will be added to a waiting list, and notified as soon as the full launch of sports betting is authorized by state officials.

The total launch of sports betting in Connecticut is expected to occur on October 19, 2021. Specific to RSI’s platform, those on the waitlist will receive a free bet once their accounts are unlocked.

From the expected launch date, PlaySugarHouse will be available both online and in 15 retail properties. These include Bobby V’s locations in Stamford and Windsor Locks; Sports Haven in New Haven; and the Winners locations in Hartford, Manchester, Waterbury, Torrington, New Britain, Milford, and Norwalk.

Rush Street Interactive is currently live with online and retail casinos and/or sportsbooks in 10 US states including Pennsylvania, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Indiana, Virginia, Colorado, Iowa, and West Virginia with Connecticut soon to come.
