Dave Rivers joins and will report to PointsBet Canada CCO Nic Sulsky.

The gaming operator, PointsBet Canada, has confirmed the appointment of Dave Rivers as the company’s new vice president of marketing. The newly appointed VP will report directly to the operator’s chief commercial officer Nic Sulsky.

"I've been fortunate over the course of the last 20 years to hone my craft in experiential and digital marketing, and have long been a fierce advocate for technology," said Rivers.

"To join a technology company like PointsBet, on the cutting edge of an entirely new industry in Canada, is an incredibly exciting opportunity and one I couldn't possibly pass up."

Previously, Rivers held the position of director of brand marketing & sponsorship at Bell. In this role, which he had held since 2001, he was responsible for driving the company’s sponsorship strategy.

"Dave is one of the smartest and most capable marketers in North America and is going to play a key role as we prepare to launch a business that is unique to our roots here in Canada, as well as one that will use its own world-class technology to deliver for our future customers," added Sulsky.

"He's a leader, a creator, a mentor, and a community builder. I can't wait to begin our work together and continue to build-out a company that delivers something completely different for the sports betting public in Canada."

PointsBet was originally founded in Australia. Currently, the company allows betting on all of North America’s leading sports leagues including the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS.

This week, PointsBet has signed a new supplier agreement with the official data and fan engagement company Genius Sports.

Genius will provide its full suite of official sportsbook data, content, and fan engagement solutions to the operator.
