Red Knot, a PR and communications agency specializing in sports, sports betting and online gaming worldwide, on Wednesday said it has tapped Robin Chhabra to be its chairman.
The Austin, Texas-based firm described Chhabra as one of the most influential people in sports betting and online gaming M&A. He currently is president of Tekkorp Digital Acquisition Corp.
According to a statement from Red Knot, Chhabra brings “unrivalled experience of leadership and strategy in the retail and digital gaming industry” to the company. His resumé includes heading corporate strategy, M&A, and business development at two companies, The Stars Group and William Hill, as well as serving as CEO of Fox Bet.
Red Knot noted Chhabra has been named as one of Gaming Intelligence’s “Hot 50” on four separate occasions and as a “Power Player” by Sports Business Journal.
“I am delighted to join Red Knot as chairman, especially at such an exciting time for the agency as we grow in the US and worldwide,” Chhabra said in a statement. “The US market is seeing exponential growth in the sports, sports betting, and gaming sectors, and many of the companies I meet are crying out for deep specialist knowledge to help craft their communications to consumers, the trade and to potential investors and acquirers. I have worked with the Red Knot partners on a number of projects, globally and specifically in the USA, and their passion for the industry is infectious. I am excited to help the team continue its growth, both in the US and worldwide.”
Red Knot Founder, Andy Clerkson added: “Robin is one of our industry’s mightiest deal makers and no doubt the most connected man in sports betting and gaming.”
Red Knot was founded in 2020 by media and industry veterans Andy Clerkson, Rich Thorp, Camilla Wright and Romilly Evans to offer PR and communications for the sport, gaming and betting world. Tom Webb joined as US head of operations in 2021.
The firm offers a range of PR and communications services, including brand and marketing strategy, tactical services including press office functions, reputation management, crisis communications planning and activation, content creation, design and social media management.
