Passport Technology, Inc., a provider of payment technology to the global gaming industry, on Friday said it is launching what it described as the first cloud-based debit processing platform in the US.
The Las Vegas-based company said the new platform will tap the latest in advanced encryption security with VirtuCrypt HSM by Futurex, a provider of cryptographic solutions.
Passport noted its DataStream platform, which launched in 2003, is one of the largest bank-sponsored ATM processors in North America, facilitating ATM, POS, ACH and retail transactions.
DataStream now is completely cloud-based, the company added. It connects more than 3,500 ATMs in 48 states.
Passport also said DataStream has seen triple-digit growth year over year, and plans further expansion in 2022.
“The launch of our fully integrated cloud-based processing platform is a significant technological milestone for DataStream,” Kent Cain, SVP of platform operations at Passport, said in a statement. “With the integration of VirtuCrypt, DataStream is at the forefront of industry innovation with cloud-based encryption, platform redundancy, uptime and ability to provide custom processing solutions for any customer. In addition to DataStream, Passport said it leverages cloud-based solutions to support its portfolio of North American and international fintech solutions.
