Forbes Travel Guide lists just 10 hotel and casinos in the US as meeting top standards.

The Cordish Companies on Wednesday said two of its Live! hotel casinos earned “Sharecare Health Security Verified” status from Forbes Travel Guide.

Forbes Travel Guide said it worked with digital healthcare company Sharecare to develop a verification system that covers more than 360 health and hygiene protocol standards, including cleaning products and procedures, ventilation, physical distancing, the guest experience and health safety communication with guests and employees.

Hotels must continue to verify their health protocols are in compliance with the latest global health standards to minimize the risk and impact of Covid and potential future public health events, Forbes and Sharecare said.

The Live! casinos in Hanover, Maryland, and in Philadelphia are two of only 10 hotel and casinos in the US to earn the verification from the Forbes Travel Guide. The Maryland property is one of two hotels in the state to do so, while the newly opened Philadelphia casino (pictured) is one of four in Pennsylvania.

“The pandemic has made it clear that hotels and resorts must, first and foremost, assure guests of their safety,” Filip Boyen, CEO of Forbes Travel Guide, said in a statement. “By becoming verified, the Live! Casinos & Hotels in Maryland and Philadelphia have demonstrated their commitment to creating a culture of accountability and following global best practices to heighten health security, verified by a third party.”

Rob Norton, president of Cordish Gaming Group added: “Our comprehensive “Play It Safe” plan with best practices provided by the Centers for Disease Control, John Hopkins University School of Public Health and guidelines from the States of Maryland and Pennsylvania has enabled us to be leaders in the industry on health and safety. We continue to stay vigilant at all our locations to meet and exceed Covid-19 safety guidelines.”
