Mohegan names Steve Netopski as new IT Director

Key Points
- Netopski joined Mohegan 25 years ago
- He has held various IT positions throughout his time with the company
Mohegan has promoted information technology veteran Steve Netopski to its new IT Director. Netopski will fill the vacancy left by previous Director Chuck Harris, who was recently elected to the Mohegan Tribal Council.
Netopski first joined Mohegan Sun in 2000 as a computer operator. Throughout his career, he has held several IT-related roles, including as the Manager of Technical Services and Converged Communications.
Netopski will oversee IT operations across the property, as well as technology initiatives in his new role as director.
Mohegan CIO & Senior VP of IT Mark Rosa commented, “Steve Netopski’s promotion is a testament to his dedication, leadership and deep understanding of our IT infrastructure.
“His vision, hard work and commitment to excellence will be integral to our enhanced and further streamlined technology services across Mohegan Sun.”
Mohegan currently owns and manages entertainment resort properties in the United States and Canada. Its Canadian operators are based in Niagara Falls within the province of Ontario, but the company owns resorts in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Good to know: Boston Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca has reportedly reached an agreement to buy the WNBA franchise from the Mohegan Tribe for $325m
According to a Boston Globe local report, this could potentially be the highest purchase price for a women’s team, should the deal reach conclusion.
The transaction would be subject to approval from WNBA’s Board of Governors. Part of the agreement would involve purchasing the Connecticut Sun and moving the team to Boston into a new practice facility with a $100m price tag.
Though Pagliuca has confirmed he is interested in the venture, no formal plans have been made.
Should the team make the move, relocation could be expected to wrap up in 2027.
