Argentina: Corrientes Lottery promotes responsible gaming education in schools
Regulator is expanding its prevention strategy through workshops for students while advancing certification to strengthen regulatory quality.
In Argentina, the Instituto de Lotería y Casinos de Corrientes (ILCC) is extending its responsible gaming campaign into local schools.
As part of its responsible gaming program, the regulator is leading workshops for teenagers to raise awareness about digital habits and the risks associated with excessive gaming and gambling.
The latest session was held at the “Padre J. Guido Lucchelli” school in the provincial capital. Students took part in interactive activities focused on identifying risky behaviors, managing screen time and understanding how online platforms can encourage impulsive play.
The initiative is carried out in cooperation with the provincial Ministry of Development and its Directorate of Youth, represented by María José Velozo. According to the organizers, the joint approach seeks to open dialogue about responsible technology use and to provide students with practical tools for prevention.
The ILCC said the school program forms part of a broader effort to strengthen responsible gaming culture across the province. Alongside these workshops, the regulator operates self-exclusion mechanisms, online self-assessment tools and awareness campaigns that promote informed decision-making among players.
Corrientes is one of several Argentinian provinces advancing coordinated policies on gambling prevention under the umbrella of ALEA, the national association of state lotteries. Provincial regulators have increasingly prioritized education and early intervention as part of their responsible gaming frameworks.
Recently, the Corrientes Lottery has advanced its official certification process to strengthen regulatory quality and institutional transparency. The initiative, part of Argentina’s IRAM-ALEA N°19 framework, places the regulator among several provincial agencies working to align operational standards and compliance practices across the country’s gaming sector.
