AFA-CWA president joins hands with Teamsters at Horseshoe Indianapolis strike

Key Points
- Workers from the Teamsters union initiated a strike at the casino last week
- A pending vote scheduled for October 17 was delayed because of the recent federal government shutdown
The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA International President Sara Nelson has decided to join dealers who recently went on strike at Horseshoe Indianapolis, located in Shelbyville, Indiana.
Nelson will join dealers from Horseshoe on the picket line at 9 AM Saturday, October 25 to show support and solidarity for the Teamsters union.
More than 200 were scheduled to vote for October 17 on joining Local 135. However, the pending vote was delayed due to the ongoing government shutdown and will be delayed indefinitely.
As a result, prospective Teamsters requested using a neutral third party to hold a timely vote. However, management at Horseshoe denied the proposal, resulting in a strike for Teamsters representation.
