BetNor, an Argentine sports betting and online casino operator, has officially launched its platform in the province of La Rioja, its first and only licensed jurisdiction in the country.
The announcement was made at the Administration of Games of Chance of La Rioja (AJALAR) headquarters, with company executives and provincial authorities in attendance.
The platform operates under a provincial license, which enables the hiring of local workers and ensures that provincial regulators monitor all games. Authorities highlighted that this framework seeks to prevent fraud and protect players.
Santiago Bajuk, General Director of BetNor, said: “Each day more Argentines can play safely and legally.” He added that the company chose La Rioja as the starting point for its national and regional expansion.”
From AJALAR, Deputy Administrator Julio Brizuela said: “Fighting illegal gambling, which allows minors to play, does not pay taxes and has no controls, is a priority for us. The best way to do this is with responsible companies that meet the requirements of the province to protect users.”
