BetHog has launched Sunny, an AI-powered blackjack dealer.
Sunny takes inspiration from live dealer and in-person dealers by engaging with the player, and is able to remember players’ names, offer advice and display other traits typically not seen in online poker rooms. Sunny takes the form of an anime character, wearing a yellow and purple croupier-style outfit.
BetHog was co-founded by Nigel Eccles, who was also one of the Co-Founders of FanDuel. The platform was launched in November last year, following a $6m seed investment, and offers a range of exclusive titles such as Hogger, Mines and Plinko, as well as classic casino games.
On the launch, Eccles said, “This is more than just a new feature, it represents a whole new category.

AI technology has steadily advanced to include more segments of the gaming industry. In June, Kalshi debuted its first AI-produced TV commercial, with CEO Tarek Mansour explaining that the ad “went from idea to implementation in less than 48 hours.” The ad included reporters interviewing sports fans, asking them who they predict to win as well as if the price of eggs will increase, reflecting the prediction options available on the platform.
