CoinPoker Streamlines No-Limit Hold’em Cash Games With New ‘K-Poker’ Format
CoinPoker has introduced a new cash game format called ‘K-Poker,’ which appears to streamline no-limit hold’em for faster-paced play.
According to the operator’s explanation, K-Poker simply allows for a faster rate of play, in more ways than one. The literal speed of the game is increased, plus the players are incentivized to play more hands, because the pots are designed to get much bigger than those in traditional no-limit hold’em.
Whereas in normal no-limit hold’em, the action centers around a small blind, big blind, and maybe an ante, K-Poker increases the size of the starting pot by a lot. There are two blinds of equal size, plus every player antes another full blind. Since the table can be up to seven-handed, that means the pot can start with up to nine blinds, rather than the traditional 1.5 (or 1.5 plus antes).
That incentivizes much looser play, which can create more action and a more fun experience for many of the players.
Everything else about K-Poker is the same as regular hold’em, except for replacing custom bet sizes with preset buttons. Only five options are available:
- 25% of the pot
- 50% of the pot
- Full pot
- 200% of the pot
- All in
That’s meant to help players navigate bet decisions more quickly in the face of the 10-second timer that governs all decisions.
Players can buy into the games with 50 big blinds to 100 big blinds. All hand rankings and other key parts of the game, such as positions, remain the same. Games start as low as $0.10/$0.10.
