Argentina: Mendoza regulator conducts compliance audit

IPJyC of Mendoza completed its latest internal audit under Argentina’s ALEA-IRAM Reference Standard 19.
Key Points
- The audit was carried out virtually
- 19 findings were reported, including three strengths and 13 opportunities for improvement
- Results will prepare IPJyC for an upcoming external audit by IRAM
The Provincial Institute of Games and Casinos (IPJyC) of Mendoza has conducted an internal follow-up audit under the Reference Standard 19.
Reference Standard 19 was created by the Association of State Lotteries of Argentina (ALEA) together with the Argentine Institute for Standardization and Certification (IRAM).
It sets specific quality and compliance requirements for regulators and operators in the country.
Reference Standard 19 establishes procedures for management, auditing and continuous improvement, serving as a complement to international standards but tailored to Argentina’s gaming industry.
The audit team, made up of representatives of ALEA, evaluated compliance with the requirements of the Reference Standard 19, which applies specifically to gambling operators in Argentina.
The current follow-up audit produced a total of 19 findings: three classified as strengths, 13 opportunities for improvement and three observations.
IPJyC General Manager Adrián Acevedo thanked staff for their preparation and participation, noting that “these types of instances are tools that discipline and that drive the constant search for quality and excellence in the daily management of the Institute.”
The internal process also serves as a preparatory stage for IPJyC’s next external audit by IRAM, scheduled to take place in person from 8-12 September. That review will cover all standards already certified by the Institute.

The organisation emphasised that continuous audits represent an institutional effort but also rely on the daily work of employees.
Senior management reiterated that the findings will be used to strengthen IPJyC’s positioning within Mendoza and Argentina’s gaming sector.
The results will now be analysed internally to address the findings and reinforce the management system.
