Operator securing deals as it readies launch of sports betting platform in the US.

Interactive gaming and sports betting technology company Elys Game Technology Corp., on Monday said it has extended its strategic partnership with Sportradar, a global provider of sports betting and entertainment products and services.

The two parties said the deal gives Elys access to official pre-game and in-play data for major US sports from Sportradar. Elys added this will enable it to offer live, in-game wagering options at its planned US retail sports betting locations.

Matteo Monteverdi, CEO and president of Elys, said the company plans to launch in the US market in the coming months, beginning in Washington, DC.

“The new agreement further enhances our product portfolio for live streaming sporting events and should open up new opportunities in the sizable US sports betting market ahead of our scheduled first US deployment,” Monteverdi said in a statement, citing research from Morgan Stanley that estimates sports betting in the US should generate nearly $7 billion in revenue by 2025.

“We believe Sportradar’s technology, data and analytics will enable us to execute our vision of building a sports betting solution for European and North American gaming operators,” Monteverdi added.

Eduard Blonk, chief commercial officer of Sportradar, noted the company has been longtime partners with Elys.

“This expansion of our partnership in the US is a natural next step given Elys’ growth trajectory,” Blonk said. “We look forward to working together for the upcoming sports seasons.”

Sportradar is an official partner of the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, NASCAR, FIFA and UEFA. It monitors and analyzes more than 720,000 matches annually across 75 sports.
