Michigan iGaming and sports betting revenue grows 28.9% for July 2025

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported the state’s iGaming and online sports betting performance throughout July 2025, as total revenue increased 28.9% from the prior year period to $284.6m, while adjusted gross receipts (AGR) rose 36.7% for a total of $259.1m.
iGaming operators reportedly paid $50.5m in state taxes for July 2025, while Detroit’s three commercial casinos submitted $12.5m in wagering taxes and municipal service fees. The total mobile sports betting handle throughout the month was $282.7m, rising 13% from the prior year period but falling 6.6% when compared to June 2025.

As of July 2025, 12 operators across Michigan offer internet sports betting, as an additional 15 offer iGaming for eligible residents. Tribal operators reported $6.1m in payments made to respective governing bodies in July, equating to an increase of 35.6% from the prior year period.

On August 14, the MGCB issued cease-and-desist orders to 15 unlicensed online gambling operators, found to be in violation of the state’s Lawful Internet Gaming Act, Gaming Control and Revenue Act and sections of the Michigan Penal Code.
The operators found to be targeting residents within the state include 7 Bit Casino, Avia Games Inc., Grande Vegas Casino, High Country Casino, PrimaPlay Casino, Slot Madness, Slots Plus Casino, Sun Palace Casino and Vegas Casino Online.
