Paysafe expands payment options in Peru with PagoEfectivo

The PagoEfectivo wallet, which represents the brand’s first in LatAm, enables users to instantly load funds, make online purchases and transfer money to others among additional features.

Paysafe has extended its payments solution offerings in Peru following the transformation of PagoEfectivo, the company’s eCash brand, into a digital wallet which enables users to instantly load funds, make online purchases, receive payouts from participating merchants, transfer money to others and pay using a code. 

“Consumers in Peru already trust PagoEfectivo for everything from iGaming and digital goods to travel and eCommerce,” Paysafe CEO Bruce Lowthers said. 

“With the launch of our new digital wallet, we’re giving them a more convenient way to pay – one that reflects Paysafe’s commitment to powering the experiential economy.”

PagoEfectivo would also introduce Peruvian actor Carlos Alcántara as its new brand ambassador to help demonstrate functionality of the online wallet, as well as feature in a nationwide campaign set to be rolled out across television, digital, outdoor and out-of-home formats. 

Good to know: Paysafe was granted official approval of its payment institution license by the Central Bank of Brazil on January 7, marking its entry into the nation’s newly regulated iGaming and sports betting market 

Paysafe VP and Head of LatAm Esteban Sarubbi also spoke on the launch, which represents PagoEfectivo’s first digital wallet to be released in the LatAm market, having said, “Our recent survey with Peruvian consumers found that 81% would use a digital wallet from PagoEfectivo.

“With that strong sign, we’re launching a solution that meets consumers’ payment needs.”

Paysafe will be inviting residents to the PagoEfectivo Universe from July 10–26, described as an “immersive, interactive space” for guests to play games and simulate payments while also getting the chance to meet influencers and celebrities during specialized time slots.
