The Kansas Lottery has published its February sports betting results. Last month’s sports betting handle reached $216.2m, up by 6.5% when compared to the February 2024 handle.
In a breakdown of last month’s total, $6.6m of the state’s sports betting handle came from its four land-based casinos. These include Kansas Star Casino, Hollywood Casino, Boot Hill Casino and Kansas Crossing Casino.
Hollywood Casino, which partners with BetMGM, brought in the largest retail handle for the month, totaling nearly $4.6m
The state’s online sports betting handle reached more than $209m during the month of February. Out of its six operators, Boot Hill yielded the largest online wagering total, in partnership with DraftKings.
Online bets through DraftKings reached close to $88.9m last month. Kansas Star and its online operator, FanDuel, contributed more than $67m to last month’s online sports betting total.
The state generated more than $23.9m in total revenue from February sports betting. Online revenue reached $21.8m last month, while retail sports betting reported more than $2.1m in February revenue.
During the month, the state tax contribution totaled almost $2.4m. Online sports betting contributed $2.2m to the February tax total, while retail locations were responsible for $0.2m.

However, historic horseracing (HHR) facilities are currently prohibited from having sportsbooks on site but can partner with mobile app providers to offer players online sports betting.
Kansas passed a bill in 2022 to pave the way for both historic horseracing and sports betting. Senate Bill 84 outlines specific requirements, including allowing one facility in Sedgwick County.
