Key points:

- The number of bets received by Kambi increased 72% year-over-year, including a 74% rise in on-property wagers and a 51% increase in online bets as well

- Kambi also reported increases in on-property handle for the Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs and March Madness during 2024

Kambi Group has released its 2025 Tribal sports betting report, including a reported 51% year-over-year increase in handle during the period and 72% growth in the number of bets placed throughout the year. As part of the Tribal network insights, Kambi also witnessed a 54% increase in handle through on-property sportsbooks from the prior year period, while online handle grew by 32% year-over-year during 2024.

“Through partnerships with Tribal operators, Kambi has seen firsthand how a Kambi-powered sportsbook drives engagement and boosts overall property performance, leading to increased sales in areas such as food and beverage and growth in rewards memberships,” Kambi said.

The number of bets placed at on-property Tribal gaming facilities grew by 74% from the prior year period, including rises seen during events such as the Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs and March Madness college basketball tournament. For the Super Bowl, on-property handle increased by 75% from the prior year period, while NBA Playoffs handle and March Madness betting grew by 12% and 49%, respectively, from the prior year period.

Kambi stated within the report that “having a quality cash out function can be an important tool for keeping bettors engaged.

“On the Kambi network, nearly half of online bettors that cashed their bets out reinvest the money in a new bet within five minutes.”

Throughout 2024, Kambi also reported that football received the highest share of wagers from players within the supplier’s network, coming in at 31% while basketball and baseball trailed close behind at 29% and 20%, respectively. Soccer received 6% of all wagers on Kambi sportsbooks, with ice hockey and other accounting for the remaining 14% of all bets placed.

Good to know: FDJ Group identified Kambi Group on February 24 as its preferred assignee to replace the operator as the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s sports betting partner

The number of bets placed through online platforms also increased year-over-year, growing by 51% as Tribes continue to adapt to new forms of sports betting offerings.

Justin Arnett, VP of Digital Gaming at Potawatomi Casino Hotel, spoke on how the property has seen significant increases in rewards members, property visits and average monthly visits per member since debuting a Kambi-operated sportsbook during May of 2024. Arnett shared the property has increased its reward members total by 154% year-over-year, as total property visits grew by 199% and average monthly visits per member rose by 30% from the prior year period.

Included within the Kambi Tribal partner network is the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and Wind Creek Hospitality in Illinois, which are currently in “pre-launch” after forming new partnerships with the supplier during 2024.
