Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski took part in the first two Kick of Destiny events, which includes a 25-yard field goal attempt made by the contestant.

Key points:

- FanDuel is offering users the opportunity to make a free pick on the contest, with eligible customers who pick correctly winning an equal share of $10m in bonus bets

- The first television advertisement for the third Kick of Destiny event also went live on January 10 with the announcement

At Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Eli and Peyton Manning will compete in the operator’s third-ever Kick of Destiny contest, which will offer FanDuel users the chance to win a share of $10m in bonus bets. All users of FanDuel will be given the opportunity to make a free pick on who will win between Eli and Peyton, with eligible customers that pick correctly earning a share of the prize pool.

"With the Kick of Destiny, we set out to make FanDuel a part of Super Bowl Sunday. For year three, we're raising the stakes by introducing a rivalry and a head-to-head Kick of Destiny competition,” FanDuel EVP of Marketing Andrew Sneyd said.

“Peyton & Eli Manning will make history by competing against each other live for the first time in Super Bowl history. May the best Manning win!"

The live kicking competition will begin with each Manning attempting a 25-yard field goal to win the Kick of Destiny contest.

If there is no winner after the initial kicks, the Mannings will get additional attempts until three rounds have passed, when a tiebreaker would then be put into place. Whichever participant kicks the football closest to the center target would then be crowned the winner of the contest.

Good to know: Former New England Patriots tight end and future NFL Hall-of-Famer Rob Gronkowski participated in the first two Kick of Destiny events with FanDuel

"The Kick of Destiny is becoming a great Super Bowl Sunday tradition, and I'm feeling really good about my chances to get the win," Eli Manning said.

"I look forward to celebrating with everyone in America who picks me to beat Peyton."

Peyton also spoke on his chances of winning the Kick of Destiny contest, having said, "Eli and I have always been competitive, and this is going to be a fun way to challenge each other in a completely different way.

"I've been studying film of great kickers and training hard to make sure I bring home the win for everyone in America who picks me to beat Eli."

Peyton and Eli were both Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks for their respective franchises, with Peyton having been named to the NFL Hall of Fame in August 2021.

FanDuel also created television advertisements ahead of the contest, the first of which will begin airing on January 10. Two separate advertisements will be made once the event has concluded, which will include the winner’s celebration and contestants who took home a share of the $10m prize pool.
