Las Vegas Valley hotel and resort operators are offering rooms at discounts for those affected by the Southern California and Los Angeles-area wildfires, according to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Resorts World, Fontainebleau, Treasure Island, South Point and Virgin are among the casino resorts in the area that have opted to help accommodate those fleeing from the wildfires by offering reduced room rates.
Fontainebleau Las Vegas said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to those who are affected by the devastating fires in Southern California.
“While a tragedy like this is unfathomable, we look to offer a safe place of rest and refuge during this heartbreaking time.”
Wynn Resorts is providing aid through financial contributions, according to the local report. To assist with humanitarian efforts in response to the fires, Wynn Resorts is donating $700,000 to the American Red Cross and $300,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings told the Review-Journal, “Our hearts go out to those who have been impacted by the devastating Southern California wildfires.
“In times like this, there is little that can be done to console the immense loss that so many people are experiencing but we remain at the ready to assist in any way that we can.”
The casino resort also has an employee donation program in place that will match contributions dollar for dollar, the local report said.
