Scientific Games extends Scratch-Off collaboration with Kentucky Lottery

The pair’s pre-existing partnership began in 1989 and helps drive funding for state college scholarships.

Scientific Games has announced a 10-year partnership extension contract with the Kentucky Lottery for the continuation of the pair’s Scratch-Off game management collaboration.   

After originally joining forces in 1989, Scientific Games celebrates its 35-year anniversary as the official Scratch-Off game provider of the Kentucky Lottery with the announcement of a 10-year contract extension.

After co-developing the Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership (SGEP) program in 2018, the collaboration has been generating funding for college students in Kentucky for the past six years – and will continue to do so moving forward.

Now, Scientific Games will be pleased to have signed an extension agreement with its long-standing lottery partner in the Midwest, after also signing a similar deal with the Arizona Lottery in August.

Commenting on the partnership extension arrangement, John Schulz, President of Americas and Global Instant Products for Scientific Games, said, “The Kentucky Lottery has always taken an innovative, collaborative approach to growing its Scratch Off product category, and moving to the SGEP program was a very strategic business decision.

“Our partnership has proven to be highly successful, keeping the product pipeline flowing with exciting and innovative games to Kentucky Lottery retailers and players and protecting funding for scholarships for Kentucky students.” 

Elsewhere in Kentucky, the state’s Horse Racing Commission reported its FY 2023/24 sports betting figures early last week – revealing wagering handle of $2.39bn for the year-long period.
