PGCB releases annual diversity report

The regulator said it remains commited to fostering a diverse casino work environment.
Key Points
- A large majority of casino employees live in Pennsylvania
- Women and minorities make up more than a third of the casino workforce
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has published its 17th Annual Diversity Report, which provides a detailed description of diversity plans and actions taken throughout the state’s 17 casinos.
During the year, casinos around the state employed 15,857 people. Out of this total, almost 90% are Pennsylvania residents.
Women and racial minorities make up 41.6% and 41.4% of total casino employees respectively.
The board said in its report, “Pennsylvania’s casinos continue to offer competitive compensation packages and growth opportunities to attract exceptional talent. As competition for talent has intensified, the casinos have developed and implemented strategies to recruit, hire, and retain employees.
“These strategies also embrace work-life balance, encourage communication, promote team collaboration, highlight innovation, and accentuate work-place flexibility.”
The PGCB is responsible for regulating legal gambling within the state’s 17 land-based casinos, 18 retail sports wagering locations, 12 online sports wagering sites, 22 sites for online casino-type games (slot machines, table games, poker), 74 truck stop establishments with Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) and nine online fantasy sports contest sites.
