Golden Matrix Group secures sports betting and iGaming license in Peru
This follows the group obtaining a sports betting license in South Africa
Golden Matrix Group has announced that the company has secured a sports betting and iGaming license in Peru.
The license was issued to Meridian Gaming Peru S.A.C., a subsidiary of Meridian Group, and was granted by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (MINCETUR).
Golden Matrix finalized the acquisition of MeridianBet in a deal worth $300m back in April, with this being seen as key to the group’s expansion on a global scale.
This has been emphasized with Golden Matrix securing a sports betting license in South Africa, with this latest license in Peru further supporting this growth initiative.
Peru has been seen as a key market by many operators in 2024, with the last few months seeing a number of companies securing licenses there, including WorldMatch, Betsson and EveryMatrix, among others.

In other company news, Meridian Gaming announced recently that Golden Matrix had joined the Russell 3000 Index, with the company saying the move “underscores the company’s established market presence and growth trajectory.”
