Michigan regulator discovers illegal gambling operation Red Horse Bar
The regulator worked closely with the state police to seize six slot-style machines.
A raid at Red Horse Bar in Saginaw, Michigan has uncovered illegal gaming operations.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) and the Michigan Department of Attorney General recently concluded a joint investigation into the establishment and executed a search warrant at the premises.
Authorities confiscated six slot-style gaming machines during the raid and seized 5,161 in suspected gambling proceeds, along with $2,820 in gift cards from the bar.
The MGCB was notified of the potential illegal gambling operation through a tip by a citizen. The board then launched an investigation with the help of the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
Following the inquiry, the board sent the bar’s owners a cease-and-desist letter. After the owners failed to comply, the police department obtained a search warrant to raid the establishment.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams issued a statement regarding its role in combatting illegal gambling throughout the Great Lakes State.
He commented, “The Michigan Gaming Control Board remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring compliance with all state gambling regulations.
“We will continue to work diligently to identify and eliminate any illegal gambling activities that pose a threat to the integrity of the industry and the welfare of the public.”
Red Horse Bar owners Christopher and Nicholas Adams were arraigned on felony gambling charges in the 70th District Court. Both were released on $6,000 personal bonds.
The defendants are scheduled to appear for a preliminary exam June 24 to discuss legal proceedings.
In other state news, Michigan recently welcomed two new BetMGM online slot games, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Cheers.
These games are the latest release of BetMGM’s TV and blockbuster-themed movie and show slot titles, joining the recently launched Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Godfather and Charlie’s Angels games.
