PlayUp has announced the appointment of US gaming industry veteran Dennis Drazin to its board of directors.

Drazin will join the Australian-based online operator’s board, working along side its US division CEO Dr. Laila Mintas, to help drive business in the country and support the company’s global growth strategy.

He was instrumental in the helping to legalize sports betting in the US and was inducted into the Sports Betting Hall of Fame last year.

Drazin said: “I am very excited to join PlayUp and look forward to utilizing my many years of experience and industry leadership to develop and expand PlayUp's extensive strategy as they look to grow their US and Global presence in online betting."

PlayUp Global CEO Daniel Simic, added: “Dennis is a well-recognized figure in the US Betting industry and will add enormous experience to our Board. I look forward to working with him and Laila as we expand our global footprint."

Last month, the operator completed a $25m capital raise to pursue entry into the US market and has already secured online sports betting access in New Jersey and Colorado.
