Bettors living in Illinois will now be able to access the Fanatics Sportsbook on iOS or Android

Following Friday's launch, Fanatics Betting and Gaming has added Illinois to the list of states in which the brand's sportsbook is now available.

Sports fans in the state will now be able to access the Fanatics Sportsbook on both iOS and Android devices, making it the 19th state in which the application is currently available. The sportsbook is also up and running in states such as Connecticut, Indiana, Michigan, New York and Indiana. The Fanatics Sportsbook also recently launched in Kentucky and Arizona.

Fanatics recently finalized its acquisition of PointsBet US for $225m. Therefore, in Illinois, all PointsBet customers’ details such as their username, password, rewards points, account balance and responsible gaming settings will be moved over to the Fanatics Sportsbook automatically.

As of January 2024, Fanatics is valued at $31bn, and this latest move displays its ongoing intent to rapidly expand its footprint across North America and the rest of the globe. A range of features including FanCash, a Search system and Discover page are available on the Fanatics Sportsbook.

Fanatics has come to a head with DraftKings in multiple capacities over the last few years, as following on from the bidding war that ensued over PointsBet US, the pair are now in a legal battle. Michael Hermalyn, who is now serving as VP and Head of the LA Office at Fanatics, responded to a preliminary injunction placed on him by DraftKings – calling it an ‘unnecessary character assassination.’
