High rollers on the high seas: Sun Princess to debut Princess Cruises’ largest casino
The new gaming venue will be 9,000 square feet with 30% more gaming machines than in ships of Princess’ Royal Class ships.
Princess Cruises’ largest-ever casino will be open for guests setting sail in February 2024 on the Sun Princess. The new Princess Casino will have 50% more space and 30% more gaming machines than Princess Cruises’ six Royal Class ships.
The Sun Princess can accommodate 4,300 guests and the Princess Casino will be nearly 9,000 square feet with 227 slot machines and 13 live table games. The casino will be positioned on deck 8 next to the ship’s Piazza, which will also be upgrading with gaming offerings.
Aristocrat will bring a first-of-its-kind game to the ship’s upgraded casino with Buffalo Zone now playable at sea. Princess Cruises also aims to offer over 200 other new and popular slot and video poker titles.

Princess Cruises is no stranger to gaming, launching its Ocean Sportsbook in 2021. Carnival Cruises has also previously expanded its gaming options by partnering with BetMGM in 2022 and Galaxy Gaming in September this year.
In Gaming America’s November/December issue, Jackpot Digital’s Mathieu McDonald spoke about partnering with Carnival as well to provide dealerless electronic table games with the opportunity for multi-table tournaments onboard the ships.
The Sun Princess is currently at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard for the remainder of construction before her February debut. A Star Princess ship has also been announced recently with the same passenger capacity, and both ships are part of Princess Cruises’ Sphere Class.
