Graton Resort & Casino promotes Amy Ellis to Chief Human Resources Officer
The role is a newly created one within the casino.
The Grafton Resort & Casino has announced that Amy Ellis, former HR Director of the company, has been promoted to a newly formed position within the business, known as Chief Human Resources Officer.
Ellis has nearly 20 years of experience in human resources and before joining Graton Resort & Casino, worked as the HR Director for Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds in the San Joaquin Valley, and has held numerous HR positions at Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market in Torrance, Covenant House in Los Angeles, and Clark County School District in Las Vegas.
On top of this array of experience, she also holds two qualifications, including a master’s in human resource management from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Within her new role at Grafton Resort & Casino, Ellis will be responsible for managing the recruitment and retention of employees, as well as overseeing team member engagement, development and wellness programs and benefits.
President of Graton Resort & Casino, Lana Rivera, explained the reasoning behind Ellis’ promotion: “During a time when most organizations were experiencing the Great Resignation during the Covid-19 pandemic, we saw the opposite happening here at Graton Resort & Casino. When our doors reopened, 98% of team members returned.
“Amy’s leadership was a critical contributor to that, and we are truly grateful to have her on our executive team.”
Back in June of this year, the Grafton Resort & Casino was given approval by Sonoma County for expansion plans, with plans for the Grafton Rancheria Tribe to contribute higher annual payments to the county.
