Hard Rock Casino Vancouver to rebrand as Great Canadian Casino Vancouver
The facility originally opened in 2001 as Boulevard Casino.
Starting from December of this year, the Coquitlam Casino, known as the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, is set to be rebranded as Great Canadian Casino Vancouver.
The casino is owned by Great Canadian Entertainment, known as Great Canadian Entertainment up until last year when the company itself rebranded, has operated the facility since its opening as Boulevard Casino in 2001. It was in 2013, after a licensing agreement was agreed with a subsidiary of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, to change the name to Hard Rock Casino.
However, that licensing is reportedly set to be ending and on top of a name change, Great Canadian is set to make a number of changes and additions to the casino site.
In December, it is set to open the famous Gordon Ramsay Burger, while Live Nation Canada will be brought in to be responsible for programming the entertainment at the venue’s theatre.
Great Canadian’s last rebrand of the casino saw $15m spent on redesigning and renovating the venue, but it has not been made clear how much will be spent this time around.
Current CEO Matthew Anfinson gave his thoughts on the upcoming rebrand, calling it an “exciting transformation”, adding: “Our partnerships with chef Gordon Ramsay and Live Nation Canada promise to bring an unparalleled level of culinary excellence and world-class entertainment to our valued guests. We believe that this transition represents not only a change in name but a significant opportunity to enhance the overall experience.”
