Internet Vikings takes over West Virginia with redundant hosting
The iGaming and sports betting host becomes the only provider with multiple servers in the Mountain State.
Internet Vikings recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new data center in West Virginia, as it became the first redundant hosting provider in the state. Along with New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania, West Virginia offers online sports betting, iGaming and poker.
Located in Charleston, West Virginia, the second Internet Vikings data center aims to give the company operational redundancy and reduce the likelihood of disruptions, or interruption to its service. In both sports betting and iGaming, real-time exchanges and plays are desirable for a seamless user experience.
The official opening was held at CityNet on September 12. Rickard Vikström, CEO and Founder of Internet Vikings, performed the ribbon cutting with SVP of CityNet, Drew Pomeroy.
Vikström said, “This expansion underscores our ongoing commitment to supporting the market both nationally and in West Virginia and that we will be here for the long run.”
In July, Internet Vikings also launched within North Carolina and Kentucky, and in May it announced that it went live in Wyoming and Maine early in the month, then in Arizona and New York a few weeks later.
Pomeroy stated, “We are enthusiastic about our role in contributing to Internet Vikings’ efforts in advancing the market and industry development.”
The company currently has about 600 total servers throughout over 30 data centers worldwide. In North America, Internet Vikings has data center locations in 22 states as well as one in Ontario, Canada.
