Silverton Casino to host Cider Fest next month

Patrons can try an assortment of hard ciders and fall-festival foods.

Las Vegas’ Silverton Casino Hotel will welcome this year’s Cider Fest, an event that gives guests an opportunity to sample fall festival foods and hard cider. The festival will debut on September 1 at Shady Grove Lounge and will run until October 31.

Guests can try an assortment of curated ciders that represent a variety of styles and tastes. Cider Fest will also feature several fall food menu items that include made-to-order State Fair Mini Doughnuts, Apple Cider Puff Pastry and Disco Fries, made with melted mozzarella cheese, cheese sauce and gravy on top, as well as shredded beef short ribs, cheese curds and giant soft pretzels.

Silverton Casino Hotel features 90,000 square feet of gaming space with a variety of slot machines and table games. The destination also offers its guests access to 300 deluxe rooms and suites as part of its resort.

Its Silverton Village is home to a Hyatt Place Hotel that includes 150 rooms, as well as a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurant and The Berkley, an 18-story luxury high-rise.

The casino recently hosted a summer Mermaid School, offering both children and adults a chance to swim alongside the aquarium’s marine life, which includes thousands of sharks, stingrays and tropical fish.

The summer Mermaid School is a 90-minute course that includes a behind-the-scenes tour, a warm-up class and a swimming session in the hotel’s notable aquarium.

During the season, aspiring mermaids from ages 7 to adult can spend the summer in the casino’s 117,000-gallon aquarium while sporting a mermaid tail. Those who finished Mermaid School earned a certificate of completion.
