Pennsylvania regulator fines Mount Airy, Mohegan Pennsylvania, Sugarhouse
Total fines reached $147,500.
Pennsylvania’s Office of Enforcement Counsel (OEC), a branch of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) recently levied a total of $147,500 in fines against Mount Airy, Mohegan Pennsylvania and Sugar.
The state regulator approved the three consent agreements that were presented during a recent public meeting. According to the report, three casinos were fined for violations.
Mount Airy currently operates the Mount Airy Casino Resort. The group received a fine of $120,000 for “failure to timely submit internal audit plans, a stipulation of its Statement of Conditions for licensure.”
Mohegan Pennsylvania’s operator, Downs Racing, was fined $20,000 because of two incidents involving Sugarhouse HSP Gaming, which received a $7,500 fine for “not properly notifying its security and surveillance staff along with law enforcement about an alleged cheating incident at a table game involving marked cards.”
Sugarhouse operates Rivers Casino Philadelphia.
The state’s Gaming Control Board recently granted Enteractive a new service license to operate within the state. The approval adds to the company’s existing New Jersey license that was recently approved by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE).
With the Pennsylvania license added, Enteractive is poised to engage with more US gaming fans and can expand its digital footprint throughout the US. The company now holds licenses to operate in New Jersey, Illinois and in Pennsylvania.
Since the Supreme Court repealed PASPA in 2018, online gambling is currently available in more than 35 states, with 18 of those allowing for legal online sports wagering.
