Continent 8 expands Atlantic City data center with ribbon cutting

The New Jersey data center has expanded by 30%, with a modular build and approval from the casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
Continent 8 Technologies, provider of gaming industry hosting, connectivity and security solutions, has added 30% more capacity to its Atlantic City data center in a stage three expansion. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) approved the 5,330-square-foot Modular Data Center addition.
An official opening and ribbon cutting on 18th April occurred the day before the East Coast Gaming Congress began, and was attended by Continent 8 customers, as well as key stakeholders and politicians. Speeches and a tour of the new facility were given.
Attendance also included Atlantic City Mayor, Marty Small; Executive Director of the New Jersey CRDA, Sean Patwell; Lead Engineer of the Technical Services Bureau with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Afshien Lashkari; and Chairman of the NJ Casino Control Commission, Jim Plousis.
Continent 8’s data center is New Jersey’s only center of its kind built for the online gambling industry. Its initial capacity sold out within three months after the center was originally opened in 2019. It is the only independent, licensed facility allowed to house gaming infrastructure outside of licensed casinos.
Continent 8 now offers an independent hosting site compliant with international security standards, as well as those across the US. The company works in a global, private network of over 90 locations across four continents, which includes more than 25 US states.
Michael Tobin, Founder and CEO of Continent 8 (pictured above), said: “We are incredibly proud of the hub we have built in Atlantic City, creating an economic catalyst for South Jersey, and establishing a data center that enables companies in iGaming and beyond to connect to a global network.”
The full capabilities of Continent 8’s global services are delivered to the Atlantic City data center, including private and public cloud hosting through a customer’s bespoke infrastructure.
