DraftKings releases first horseracing mobile app ‘DK Horse’ in 12 states
The operator said it plans to launch in additional states before the Kentucky Derby.
DraftKings has launched its first horseracing product, DK Horse, in 12 US states. The digital gaming operator said it hopes to release the standalone app in additional states before this year’s Kentucky Derby, which is scheduled for May 6.
DraftKings and Churchill Downs Interactive (CDI) first announced their multi-year partnership last November and have teamed up to “power the advance deposit pari-mutuel wagering technology for DK Horse.”
DraftKings CEO and Chairman of the Board Jason Robins further commented on the agreement with CDI by saying: “Together with Churchill Downs Incorporated, an industry leader with a deep-rooted history in horse racing, we will deliver an innovative, mobile customer experience.
“Our goal is to provide our customers with best-in-class-sports and gaming products, and we expect DK Horse to provide a fun and new way to engage with renowned races like the upcoming Run for the Roses.”
Players will be able to bet on a variety of US horseraces through the DK Horse app and will have access to Churchill Downs products. Horseracing fans can also stream live content through their DK Horse account, as well as handicap races. The app will provide its customers with a betting guide for upcoming events.
CDI is a racing, online wagering and gaming entertainment company. It currently operates historical racing machines in Kentucky and was recently issued customary approving licenses by Virginia Racing Commission, the New York State Gaming Commission, and the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission.
DraftKings has gained ground within the digital frontier and ended its fiscal year for 2022 on a strong foundation, according to its latest financial report. The operator has grown its online footprint to reach 21 US states with its mobile sports betting products and is live with iGaming in five.
