DraftKings highlights women athletes in ‘top handle’ and ‘most bets’ report
The rankings included UFC fighters, women’s teams and players.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, DraftKings has released a sports betting report on “women’s insights.” The report charts the highest-ranking bets on women’s teams, women’s events and women’s UFC fighters who earned the largest number of bets.
UFC fighter Amanda Nunes earned the top spot for both largest handle and the largest number of wagers.
The women’s team with the largest handle and the most bets was the Las Vegas Aces. Runners up included CHI Sky, SEA Storm and South Carolina.
A’ja Wilson grabbed the top ranking as the WNBA player with the largest betting handle and the most bets placed. Breanna Stewart, Chelsea Gray and Candace Parker earned second and third-place spots in both categories.
The women’s team that reached top spots for largest handle and most wagers in the NCAA was South Carolina. UConn, Stanford, Lousiville, Texas and Michigan made it into the top five in both categories.
The company said in a statement: “DraftKings is proud to offer our customers a variety of markets to bet on, including hundreds of options on women’s sports. Leagues like the WNBA and events including Women’s Golf, Women’s Tennis, and more are popular with customers and our growing women’s customer base.
“Over the past year, DraftKings has added over 200 women’s sports leagues to its online sportsbook offerings and saw a 9% increase in total handle for 2022.”
DraftKings has gained ground within the digital frontier and ended its fiscal year for 2022 on a strong foundation, according to its latest financial report.
The operator has grown its online footprint to reach 21 US states with its mobile sports betting products and is live with iGaming in five.
