Pennsylvania reports total gaming revenue of $450m for October
Revenue generated throughout Pennsylvania casinos increased 5.71% from October 2021.
The Pennsylvania Control Board has reported the financial results for casinos located in the state during the month of October. Total gaming revenue exceeded $450m, which equated to a 5.71% increase from October 2021.
The sources of gaming revenue regulated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals (VGTs).
Leading the group of casinos in the state is Hollywood Casino at Penn National, coming in at $68.7m, well over the $57.06m posted during the same month last year.
Valley Forge Casino Resort came in second at $56.4m, nearly $14m over the $42.87m that was posted in October last year. The financial results at the location reported the largest percentage increase (+31.75%) of the top three casinos.
Of the top three casinos in the state, the only location that decreased was Parx Casino, which came in at $54.9m, versus $57.37m last year.
Another casino that saw a massive improvement was the Hollywood Casino Morgantown. The location brought in $6.5m in gaming revenue, an increase of 1783.50% over what they posted in October 2021.
Retail slots are responsible for most of the gaming revenue the state earned during the month. In October 2022, retail slots brought in $199m in gaming revenue, which is a 2.11% decrease from last year.
Sports wagering showed the most growth over last year, bringing in $40.5m of gaming revenue, an increase of 72.16% over the same period last year.
Total adjusted revenue for October 2022 for video gaming terminals was $3,547,774 which is 5.16% higher than October last year.
