Rivalry Corp. completes the RGC’s responsible gaming program
The company initiated and completed this ahead of the two-year deadline.
Rivalry Corp has completed the Responsible Gambling Council’s (RGC) RG Check Program and has earned an RG Check Accreditation, which is a comprehensive responsible gaming award. The RG Check Program equips iGaming sites with resources that can be used to monitor, evaluate and manage gambling risks.
Rivalry co-founder and CEO, Steven Salz, spoke about the company’s commitment to responsible gambling and noted the importance of completing this program.
He commented: “Receiving our RG Check Accreditation is important for us as it signals to our customers, the gambling industry, and the gaming and esports community more broadly, our continued dedication to creating a safe environment for customers to play in.
“We see responsible gambling as a competitive advantage for us where we can build trust and transparency with our customers and brand partners through thoughtful and innovative tools that engage and interact with players in new and exciting ways.”
The program is part of Ontario’s requirements set for all iGaming operators that launch in its commercial market. Operators are expected to complete the RG Check Accreditation Program within two years of entering the market.
RGC CEO Shelley White commended Rivalry for completing the iGaming accreditation ahead of schedule and noted the company operates the first esports gambling site to receive the award.
White said: “This achievement is a clear demonstration of Rivalry’s commitment to player protection throughout its operations. RG Check is an invaluable tool for managing risk and monitoring the overall effectiveness of RG programming and RGC is proud to provide ongoing support to Rivalry’s harm minimization efforts.”
Rivalry said in a statement that the company started the evaluation process before launching in Ontario because of an ongoing commitment to foster a secure environment for its players.
Rivalry is based in Toronto and currently operates in 20 countries. It recently became a fully registered operator of internet gaming and sports betting in Ontario anticipation of the province’s commercial market launch date.
