MGM Resorts International inks nationwide connectivity deal with ExteNet Systems

The agreement will result in an enhanced 5G network to be installed across the resorts.
MGM Resorts International has partnered with ExteNet Systems to implement connectivity and signal solutions across its US properties. ExteNet will build, design and operate a host communications infrastructure to enhance MGM’s 5G availability.
Guests of MGM Resorts’ destinations will have access to greater coverage within the facilities.
ExteNet Systems Chief Executive Officer Rich Coyle said: “ExteNet is looking toward an aggressive deployment schedule for MGM properties as we embark on the largest neutral host project in the country.
“The addition of greater connectivity will further enhance MGM’s world-class offerings for guests and support upcoming plans and development with future-ready solutions.”
MGM Resorts Executive Director of Enterprise Collaboration Jim Kimball said the company’s desire to provide better service to its resort guests was the catalyst for its partnership with ExteNet.
He commented: “We’re committed to elevating every guest experience as the world relies increasingly on mobile devices and applications.
“This was at the core of our decision to partner with ExteNet. They delight in the user experience – so our properties can reliably bring better service and enrichment to our guests.”
ExteNet Systems will distribute its wireless network to MGM Resorts’ 25 properties. The company anticipates that the system will be completed and in use between the end of this year and the fall of 2024.
DigitalBridge CEO Marc Ganzi expressed confidence in ExteNet’s technology. The company is one of ExteNet’s investors.
Ganzi said: “Across our DigitalBridge companies, working with customers is at the heart of what we do, and we are proud to work with a partner who delivers such unique and memorable experiences.
“Enhanced 5G services are a competitive differentiator for hospitality and gaming companies, and we are confident our outstanding ExteNet team has the expertise to deliver real value for MGM and improved experiences for their countless guests.”
